What the WhatsApp verified badge means today
Meta's own pages now describe the badge as a blue checkmark beside the business name. Older articles call it a green tick, and the search term has stayed.
The badge tells customers that Meta has verified the business behind the number. It does not change your messaging limit or your price per message.

Official Business Account on the WhatsApp Business API
An Official Business Account is a business phone number owned by a business Meta has verified as authentic. It shows a blue checkmark beside the name in the contacts view.
There is a practical benefit too. A number that is not an Official Business Account does not appear when people search for it inside WhatsApp, unless they have saved it in their contacts. Meta recommends applying for better discoverability.
To be eligible, all of these must be true:
- The business follows the WhatsApp Business Messaging Policy.
- The business has been on the WhatsApp Business Platform for at least 30 days.
- The business portfolio that owns the number has passed Business Verification.
- The number has two-step verification turned on.
- The number's display name has been approved.

How to apply for the Official Business Account
Meta does not grant this status to employee accounts, test accounts or WhatsApp Business app numbers.
- Open WhatsApp Manager, go to Overview and click your business phone number.
- Turn on two-step verification if it is not on already.
- Under Phone numbers, then Profile, then Official business account, click Submit Request.
- Wait for Meta's notification. If the request is rejected, you can apply again after 30 days.
- If you meet every criterion but see no option to apply, Meta says to contact your Meta point of contact, your Solution Provider's support or Meta Support.

Meta Verified for the WhatsApp Business app
Meta Verified is a paid subscription with several tiers. Depending on the tier, in the WhatsApp Business app it gives a verified badge, impersonation protection, priority support, a custom web page, multi-device access for staff and a verified badge on up to 10 WhatsApp Channels.
To subscribe, open the WhatsApp Business app, go to Tools, choose Meta Verified, pick a plan, choose the account to verify and make the first payment. Meta verifies you from your activity across its apps, and you can also provide documents. It renews automatically until you cancel.
Meta has not published a fixed India price on the pages we checked. The app shows the price for your account when you start to subscribe. Meta also offers a newer subscription, Meta One, which includes everything in Meta Verified.

Business Verification is not the badge
Many owners confuse the two. Business Verification in Meta Business Suite confirms your company's details, and it is one of the conditions for an Official Business Account and for raising your WhatsApp messaging limit.
On its own it does not give you a badge. Meta states plainly that verifying your business in Meta Business Suite is different from Meta Verified and won't give you a verified badge.

Using a verified number with Chatzyn
Chatzyn connects through Meta's official WhatsApp Business API. If your number is connected as a full API number, the Official Business Account route applies and you request the badge yourself in WhatsApp Manager. If you kept using the WhatsApp Business app on the same number (coexistence), Meta does not grant Official Business Account status to app numbers, so Meta Verified is the route for that number.

You can submit a new request after 30 days. Your business profile, including picture, email, website and description, can still be edited at any time.
Does Business Verification give me the green tick?
No. Verifying your business in Meta Business Suite is a separate process and does not add a badge, though it is required for an Official Business Account.
Does a verified badge raise my messaging limit?
Not directly. Business Verification is one way to move from 250 to 2,000 people a day. The badge itself does not change your limit.
